MDOC remembers former West Point police officer

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - According to the Mississippi Department of Corrections, an at-home accident claimed the life of a former West Point police officer.

On Sunday, May 13, the West Point Police Department stated it was saddened by the death of Mary Beth Watt, who died the day before.

Details of her death were unknown at the time.

On Wednesday, May 16, MDOC stated Watt, 41, died in an accident at her Como home in Panola County. The nature of the accident is unknown.

She had worked for MDOC since June 2017.
