LUCASVILLE - Chillicothe native and three-time convicted murderer Casey Pigge is a suspect in a Tuesday stabbing of a correction officer at Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville. Details of the incident remain scarce, but prison union spokeswoman Sally Meckling confirmed that Pigge, and fellow inmate Greg Reinke — who is also serving a life sentence for aggravated murder — were involved in the stabbing of Correction Officer Matthew Mathias. Mathias was stabbed "multiple, multiple times," Meckling said, adding that union officials continue to talk with Lucasville employees. "Metal weapons" were used to stab Mathias at 10:41 a.m. Tuesday in a prison infirmary, according to a brief initial incident report from the Ohio Highway Patrol. Read More. |
